Frequently Asked Questions

"Why are your farms not on land?"

Our fish follow a similar growth cycle to nature. They begin life in land-based fresh water facilities called recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), and spend approximately one year on land before transitioning to ocean-based farms where they continue to grow in the most efficient environment possible.

There are still challenges that must be overcome for land-based fish farming including energy, land and water use, and adequate space for fish.
